Heathers promote in Japan and debut on the Oricon Charts!

Hot new group the Heathers have spent the past week in Japan promoting their debut J-Pop debut 'Absolute First Album'.

The K-Pop duo have proven to be a big hit with Japanese fans, debuting at No. 9 on the official ORICON charts with their spring-themed single "Shady Girl". Their album has also done well, debuting one spot lower at No. 10, giving the pair two top entries and showing the popularity of Hallyu in Japan.

Speaking to our sister site TokyoDive, Heathers member Tiffany Taeyeon says, "When we first decided to debut in Japan before Korea, we were scared. Me and Jessica were worried that the fans would view us as strangers since all our individual success has been in Korea, but as soon as we began our promotions the Japanese fans gave us loud cheers and made us feel loved."

"The response has been wonderful," adds Jessica Jiyeon. "I'm part-Japanese, so to be accepted over here is extra special for me. To debut in the top ten fills me with happiness, and I promise to work hard alongside Tiffany to sustain the Heathers' success and show even better results in the future."

"Heathers will overtake all other K-Pop groups in Japan!" laughs Tiffany. "We are the most talented and beautiful. Fighting!"

To achieve their powerful results on the chart, Heathers have been working hard all week with non-stop promotional activities. To give Korean fans an insight into their Japanese schedules, the pair uploaded several charming photos of their promotions to their official Korean website.

The first photo shows the Heathers posing in Tokyo as they make their way to an official fan meet. The second is a curious and charming photo of Tiffany Taeyeon riding a robotic Panda on a variety show, and the third photo is from their "Shady Boy" performance on Music Japan.

The photos have already stirred interest from Netizens, due to the Heathers Harajuku fashion styles.

Comments included, "The Heathers must be really eager to chart in Japan if they wore those hideous clothes," "When will they leave stupid Japan and release the album in Korea?" and "Yay for Heathers and Hallyu! Korea is number one best country in the world, and most charming!"

The Heathers are now preparing to head back home for a few weeks to work on their individual Korean schedules, and will then return to Japan to continue their album promotions with a second single. A release date for the Korean version of Absolute First Album has yet-to-be announced.
