Jessica Jiyeon celebrates the 4th of July with President Barack Obama!

White Entertainment singer & actress Jessica Jiyeon took a short break out of her hectic comeback schedule to head home to Washington, DC where she spent the 4th of July at The White House with the First Family!

President Barack Obama held his 4th Annual “Grillin’ & Chillin’ with Obama” Fourth of July BBQ on the south lawn of the White House, sponsored this year by Twitter and Budweiser. Other celebrities in attendance were Oprah Winfrey’s best friend Gayle King, celebrity chef Paula Deen, a recently out Anderson Cooper with his boyfriend Benjamin Maisani, American Idol judge Randy Jackson, and legendary poet Maya Angelou.

Jessica was personally invited due to her father (world renowned Korean-American chef & restaurateur Jiho Kan), who attended Columbia University with the President in the early 80’s & served as the White House’s head chef for his first two years in office.

After spending the day eating ribs and playing party games, Jessica made history as the first K-Pop idol to perform in front of a currently active US President by taking the stage before Stevie Wonder as the evening’s musical guest in place of a scheduled Aretha Franklin, who suffered a gastric bypass related injury at a Newark Red Lobster.

Jessica wowed the crowd with renditions of popular songs by Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Adele, finishing with a cover of Beyonce’s “Dangerously In Love” - a special request by First Lady Michelle Obama. Spectators reported seeing the First Lady standing in the aisles swaying like she was in church and shouting “You betta sing that song, girl!”, “Barack, call Bey! This girl is killing it!”, & “Do “Love On Top” next! Woooo! I’m drunk ya’ll! No mo’ Courvoisier for me”.

Netizens had this to say about Jessica’s birthday:
Proud Jesster here! My girl is making history!”, “I love her Oval Office selca!”, and “I always thought Michelle Obama was well put together & classy. Seems like the typical ghetto Beyonce fan to me.”
