Wi-Fi make a comeback with “Dark Circles” + release 2nd mini album “Restoration”

It’s been nearly a year since KRS Media debuted their first vocal group Wi-Fi. Eleven months, three singles, and one major member swap later, the group finally make their grand return with their retro comeback track “Dark Circles” and 2nd mini album, “Restoration”!

Dark Circles”, written & produced by “Last Winter” hit maker Lee Seung Hyun, is an uptempo, feel good track that acts as a love letter to the classic Motown sound, with Wi-Fi’s tight harmonies & big vocals taking center stage once again. New members Gabriel and Dorian make their presence known, fitting in perfectly with remaining original members Danny & Ari.

The MV, featuring popular actress Shin Min Ah, has been described as Alice In Wonderland meets Flashdance. The storyline has her as an overworked office drone who, longing to shed her inhibitions and stress, is magically transported to a land of decadence. The MV also features appearances from Orange Caramel,  2AM’s Jokwon, and singer Seo In Guk.

Restoration” sticks close to an overall R&B sound (much like their debut track “I Love U” and its follow up “Mirage” which was co-written and produced by JYP) but presents the listener with an eclectic mix of styles ranging from 60s Motown (“Dark Circles” and “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”) to jazzy big band (“SOS (Somebody To Love)”) to baby making slow jam (“All But One”).

The album also includes two retellings of popular myths with the ballad “Pygmalia”, about an obsessive love that turns murderous (inspired by the Greek myth of Pygmalion) and the quirky “The Bird And The Moon", a retelling of the Korean myth of a bird that mistakenly falls in love with the moon’s reflection in a pond and drowns attempting to make its way to it.

"Restoration" acts as not only a smooth transition for the group’s already established fan base, but also as a reintroduction with something for everyone. It features appearances from Superstar K3 winners Ulala Session, vocalist ALi, Shinhwa leader & rapper Eric Mun, and Jessica Jiyeon.
