INFINITE and Jessica Jiyeon sing for a cause
SBS MTV & Korea Cares have called upon the talent of White Entertainment & Woolim Entertainment in an effort to stop hunger for Christmas! Korea Cares ambassador Jessica Jiyeon & INFINITE’s Sunggyu, L, & Hoya hit some of Seoul’s improvised areas to give back to the less fortunate & spread a little holiday cheer for an upcoming special.
“This is such an amazing cause.” Jessica told AKF “No one deserves to wonder where their next meal is coming from, especially during the holidays!”
The singers went door to door, offering food & gift bags full of basic toiletries as well as copies of INFINITE’s holiday single “White Confession (Lately)” & Jessica’s “Last Winter”.
“Jessica is fearless.” Sunggyu revealed “She would just go up to people as if she knew them. She wasn’t worried about if they had weapons or would hurt her. She’s different from other idols we’ve worked with. She’s generous & kind hearted -”
“And beautiful.” L interjected, as Hoya nodded silently in agreement.
Jessica seems to have won the hearts & support of South Korea as her philanthropic activities in 2011 had her fighting for animal rights, aiding recovery & rebuilding efforts in Thailand after the country was devastated by flooding, and helped raise awareness about breast cancer, all in the name of Korea Cares.
“Being named as an ambassador was never a fluff title to me. A lot of performers get pushed into charity work to make their agencies look good. The work I do has nothing to do with White or Girls’ Revolution. It’s about knowing if I died tomorrow my legacy wouldn’t be how many music programs I won, how many CFs I secured, or how big I am in other countries. It’s about knowing that as small & insignificant as I am out of billions I stood up, I used my voice, & I made a difference.”
Once food delivery ended, Jessica & Sunggyu delighted onlookers with an impromptu acoustic cover of Clazziquai Project's "She Is" after which Sunggyu rejoined L & Hoya for a live rendition of INFINITE’s hit song “Nothing’s Over”, before the entire group gave a stirring performance of the 1947 Korean standard “The Sun Shines High Over Silla”, followed by a rousing version of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" lead by Jessica before departing.
"Sunggyu (INFINITE) & Jessica Jiyeon - She Is (Clazziquai Project cover live)" "INFINITE (L, Hoya, Sunggyu) - Nothing's Over (acoustic live ver.)" "Jessica Jiyeon & INFINITE (L, Hoya, Sunggyu) - The Sun Shines High Over Silla (live)"

INFINITE is set to return to Japan for promotion, while Jessica continues production on the upcoming SBS drama “The Seven of Us”, due out in January.
The special is scheduled to air on Christmas Eve.

Netizens choose their idol best friends

Last week AllKFlop.com posted a question asking: “who would you choose as your idol best friend?”. With a resounding 3,734 votes White Entertainment’s Jessica Jiyeon came out on top as the clear winner!
Jessica’s easy going nature, extreme humbleness, & well documented work with Korea Cares left a great impression in the hearts of fans everywhere, with netizens commenting: “With everything she’s been through this year the fact that she can put it aside, put on a smile, and help others is inspiring to me!”, “She’s so open & comforting. I feel like I can tell her anything”, “Bubble tea soul sisters 4EVA!!!”, “No matter how much is put in her way she continues on. JESSICA FIGHTING!”
In 2nd place was Dream High actress & “Good Day” singer IU, followed by 2NE1’s Dara in 3rd, miss A’s Jia in 4th & After School’s Raina in 5th.
At the bottom of the list, Jessica’s Heathers group mate Tiffany Taeyeon received only two votes and several negative comments, with many voicing their thoughts on her recent opinions toward her fellow idols, her growing ego, and worsening body issues: “Sure she’s pretty but that’s it”, “Maybe she should worry less about her weight & more about how she comes off to others. All the pretty in the world can’t cover a sour attitude”, “She should take the time to better her Japanese. Has anyone else seen the recent footage of Heathers at Universal Studios Japan? She just stumbled around the stage like a bad Rihanna impersonator, as the backing track did most of the rapping SMH”, “I pity any idols who have to put their peers down to feel better about themselves…but not enough to vote for her!”

Dual animal rights campaigns released for Jessica Jiyeon

For those of you who’ve spent the last few months living under a rock: Jessica Jiyeon has joined forces with Korea Cares [the charity organization lead by ex Idol Closet host/creator turned philanthropist, Ham Jun Gi]. Her cause of choice: animal rights. The rising starlet’s fierce devotion to her cause has turned more heads than her eye catching new chic pixie cut. Korea Cares have secured two huge promotional campaigns for the pop star turned activist: PETA and the ASPCA {The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals}.
While the ASPCA campaign (exclusive to North America) tugs on the heartstrings of the average person with its straight forward message & conservative attire, the PETA campaign has done the opposite, setting forums ablaze with claims of inappropriate content.
Netizen responses have been mixed: “I applaud her efforts but couldn't she wear clothes AND save the animals?”. “Hide ya kids, hide ya wives! Another Girls Rev member is stripping off her clothes!”. “More power to her. If I had a body like that, I would do it too ^^”.
Support the cause by sending donations to www.PETA.org, and for you North American readers: www.ASPCA.org
