Following her announcement in Marie Claire magazine that she would make a fresh comeback in 2013, Suzy Sooyoung has returned to the music scene with the release of her brand new digital single, "Woman on Fire"!

"Woman on Fire" is a sad electronic track that follows a similar style to songs like "Touch" by miss A and "Talk That" by SECRET. According to White Entertainment, Suzy chose to record "Woman on Fire" because it follows the current popular trends in music, but also allows her to express herself emotionally and to showcase a new side of herself to her fans.

In an official statement released today, Suzy said: "Despite its strong dance beat, many people think that 'Woman on Fire' is a depressing song upon first hearing it, but it's really not. Although the lyrics are sad and my vocal delivery is similar to the emotional style of Baek Ji Young, the goal of this song is to encourage women to openly accept the pain of heartbreak so that they can grow and move past it into a positive and bright future. I want every woman to feel so much passion and emotion when hearing my song that a fire burns deep inside them, causing them to light up like beautiful fireflies in the sky!"

While the song is bound to become a hot issue everywhere due to its infectious melody and modern production, what is really going to capture the public's attention is the controversial religious concept that Suzy has adopted this era. Suzy has released a series of concept photos, all of which are related to the seven deadly sins. In the pictures, the songstress is seen dressed in a full nun's habit, doing judgmental poses whilst surrounded by burning flames. The nun concept is one that has been done by top American stars like Lady GaGa and Nicki Minaj before, but this is the first time that a Korean singer has attempted this style.

In an official statement released by White Entertainment, CEO Trina Villota said: "This concept may be bold, but it has not been done without purpose. It's part of a special performance art project and guerrilla marketing campaign that will be used to express a new color of Suzy Sooyoung, and to promote "Woman on Fire" in a unique way that will establish Suzy as a trendsetter in the music industry. Beginning this week, Suzy will visit brothels, women's shelters, and ghettos across the country to pray for sinners who have lost their way, to partake in charity work, and to perform "Woman on Fire" everywhere that she can. She wants to go anywhere that there are women in need so she can help and inspire them through the power of prayer, good deeds, and music."

Trina continued: "Although I am a devoutly religious, God-fearing Christian myself, Suzy does not relate this project to Christianity or any other organized religion. Instead, she sees it as a performance art project in which she can explore the way women are viewed by society by mocking her own scandalous image by dressing as a nun. Suzy feels so passionately about this project that she has personally delayed the release of her first full-length album so she can concentrate solely on her performance art and promoting "Woman on Fire" to make it as successful and impactful as possible. Through these promotions, you will not only witness a Suzy Sooyoung who is trendy and musically gifted, but also a Suzy who can permanently change society."

Shortly after news of Suzy's comeback and shock promotional campaign was revealed, netizens flocked to our forums with their feedback. Comments included: "I love the song but I find the concept too offensive and blasphemous, so I will not support this," "Suzy is very smart. She is the Korean Lady GaGa and her music and art really makes you think," and "I don't understand how Suzy dressing as a nun and singing dance songs has anything to do with politics or females in Korean society?"
