To celebrate their 6th
anniversary (March 2012 edition), Men’s
Health searched for the best fitness icon to represent their brand.
After much deliberation, they concluded that the best choice to grace to this
special edition would be none other than “Supermodel
Idol” HyunA Knowles, who has caught the attention of the Korean public with her taught and toned physique.
HyunA recently sent hearts aflutter with her transformation from a scantily-clad K-Diva into an innocent aegyo princess, but
for this issue, the Indian beauty has returned to her old image in order to show off her enviable body. Sporting a sexy grey
workout outfit with her hair loosely tied, HyunA is pictured working up a sweat as she does rigorous ab crunches and runs on the treadmill in high heels, causing her bust to bounce up and down.
After the photo session,
HyunA sat down for an in-depth interview about her body, her career, and her personal
life. Below are some excepts of the interview that are available at Men’s Health
official website.

Hello HyunA. How do you feel about being selected as the Men's Health cover girl for our 6th anniversary special edition issue?
I was very excited when
Trina unnie said that Men’s Health wanted me to become their cover girl. I have
graced many covers of many magazines, but to grace the cover of Men's Health is different and feels super special because it shows that I am much healthier than other idols, like Ham Eunjung and miss A's Suzy.
Our male staff felt
swollen by seeing your body in such small outfits. It's so hard nowadays to find
women with such stunning abs like yours. How did you develop it?
Well, my toned body was
made over the years through participating in school sports such as gymnastics
and soccer, and I've kept it through weight lifting and daily work out, as well as practicing my outrageous dance routines. I definitely work hard to keep my body like this, unlike Tiffany and Suzy, who just starve themselves to stay thin.
Soccer and weight lifting? Really? It’s my
first time hearing a female idol doing that. But I must say the outcome is worth
it. Anyway, you’ve released your first full-length album and received a lot of
success with your new song. Please tell us more about it.
My debut album Bunny’s
First Love spawned two top ten hits and the title track even won a music
program trophy, so it definitely received a lot of love from fans and netizens. It is really
hard to win for most rookies since a lot of groups are getting bigger and many
companies keep debuting new groups. With this album, I wanted to ditch the
rookie title and sit on the same level as successful soloists like IU and Huh
Gak. But now that I’m this successful, I guess I’m even higher than them now, right? I must be on the top-tier of soloists along with Lee Hyori and Rain.
Umm.. I guess. Next question, it’s official
that Girls’ Revolution have reunited and you have joined as the new member. Are
you excited about it?
When we were working on my
new album, I had a gamble with Trina unnie. My album over-costed the company
and Trina unnie said we can’t continue on it. But I insisted the project must
go on no matter what happen. I said to
her that if this album blows the chart, I want to be the first priority of
White and become the member of Girls’ Revolution. Trina asked back that if this
album flops, I have to forgo my solo career, transfer to KRS Media and join
KellyRose’s new group White Dolls. I didn’t want that to happen so I worked
really hard and did everything I can to make sure this album’s success.
How the original members feel about you? Is there
any of them who’s unhappy?
Well, I think they are
very grateful for my addition to the group. I mean, let’s be honest, I am the
reason that Girls’ Revolution reunited again. Tiffany and Jessica unnies seemed
a little bit bitter at first, especially when my songs charted higher than
theirs, but we worked it all out. I gave Tiffany unnie some of my leftovers and promised Jessica unnie that she
will have writing credits on my next album, even though she isn't a songwriter. As for Suzy unnie, she’s the happiest one. Her Korean songs did average
on the chart and her China promotion was just so-so, Girls’ Revolution’s
comeback is the thing she needs the most.
Wow, you have so much self-confidence. Anyway,
and how is the preparation of Girl’s Revolution’s comeback after Tiffany
Taeyeon went missing? Do all of you feel sad and devastated?
We feel so devastated
about it. Jessica unnie believes that Tiffany is dead and rotting at the bottom of the ocean alongside Aaliyah and John F. Kennedy
Jr. The deaths are very similar, as all the planes went missing and crashed into the ocean. But me and Suzy unnie believe
Tiffany is still alive, trapped on a remote island just like on the TV show Lost. She was days away from her album release when she went missing, so I think her disappearance was sabotage. Many police officers have been interviewing suspects, and the atmosphere at White is very tense. Girls' Revolution will reunite once Tiffany is safe and has released her solo album, but just in case Jessica is right and she's dead, we will add new members and come back as a new and improved Girls' Revolution. I hear Boram and Qri will be fired from T-ara soon, so maybe they can audition for us.
Honestly, I don’t know any of Girls’ Revolution
song but I’m pumped for your group’s comeback!
