According to representatives from both White Entertainment and TS Entertainment, the artists will be promoting as an official spin-off group B.A.P&TIFFANY. The project was decided after both agencies saw the recent success of unit groups like SISTAR19 and Trouble Maker.
Speaking to Newsen, White CEO Trina Villota said of the collaboration: "After much discussion with our friends at TS Entertainment, we decided that forming a collaboration project would be the best thing for both of our artists. TS felt that Tiffany would help draw attention to their new rookie group B.A.P as they undertake their debut promotions, and we also wanted to help re-introduce Tiffany to the public before she releases her first solo album next month. We are confident that B.A.P's talent combined with Tiffany's charisma will make everybody forget that Trouble Maker ever existed. I even think that B.A.P&TIFFANY is better than when 2NE1 and BIGBANG did that duet thing together."
"I Love You" is an acoustic Hip-Hop ballad composed by Choi Pil Kang, who did "Open Window" and "I Know" from Seungri's VVIP album. The lyrics were co-written by Girls' Revolution member Suzy Sooyoung. and are about a man who is unable to express the love that he feels deep inside.
For the single's artwork, Tiffany Taeyeon has made a shocking 180-degree transformation that has left netizens in awe. The idol has shed her feminine image to dress up like a member of B.A.P, wearing one of their trademark leather jackets with spiked heels, and even dying her hair a white blonde to match theirs. She is also posing in a bold and provocative way in order to highlight her enviable curves and S-line.
"I Love You" was released digitally a few hours ago, and is already ranking in the top five of many real-time charts. This puts Tiffany in direct competition with her bandmate HyunA Knowles, who is also ranking in the top five with her new ballad "A Bunny's Dream". This marks the first time that any Girls' Revolution members have ever promoted solo projects at the same time.
Shortly after "I Love You" was released, Netizens scrambled to our forums to share their opinions on this shock new collaboration. Comments included: "I used to think that Tiffany was the female version of INFINITE, but now I think she is the female B.A.P", "This song is amazing, but I won't support any male rookies that aren't with SM. Plus, I hate Tiffany. EXO-K hwaiting!", "OMG, I can't wait to see them dance on stage!", and "Tiffany is doing another unit group? I wish she would just hurry up and release her own album instead."
B.A.P&TIFFANY will begin promoting "I Love You" on this week's music programs, beginning with K-Pop Con and MTV's The Show. B.A.P will be working extra hard, as they are also promoting their first single "Warrior", while Tiffany will spend her spare time putting the finishing touches to her first solo album.
Are you looking forward to their first live stage?
